Security and data
How it is deployed and who can access what.
How Geodot is deployed, how it is built, who can access what and how we connect to your ERP without modifying it.
Two ways to deploy.
The option is set in the proposal, together with your IT team.
A
Cloud managed by Geodot
We run the infrastructure, maintenance and backups. It is the fastest path and needs no servers of your own.
B
On your servers
Installed on your company's infrastructure, for direct control of the data under your internal policies. It needs minimal infrastructure and local support from your IT team.
How it is built.
The application runs in containers behind a gateway that terminates TLS encryption: traffic between your users and Geodot travels over HTTPS.
- One platform
- Warehouse, transport, routing, palletizing, Control Tower and document management share the same database and the same access control.
- Container deployment
- The same application installs the same way in our cloud or on your servers.
- Document reading inside the platform
- Fixed-format digital documents (PDF, Excel or email) are read by rules inside the platform itself, without sending them to an external service.
Who gets in and what they can do.
- Hashed passwords and protected sessions
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, never in plain text. Every sign-in renews the session, actions are validated with an anti-CSRF token, and IPs with abusive attempts are blocked.
- Users, profiles and role-based permissions
- Each person signs in with their own user. Permissions are assigned by role and reach down to the screen and action level.
- Sensitive actions restricted
- Closing a load with shortages or reprinting a label is reserved for authorized roles, with a log entry and an alert.
- Movement log
- Every receipt, transfer and load records user, device and time. When someone asks who moved a pallet, the answer is in the system.
- Reports with per-user access
- Each report defines who can see it. One area's information is not open to the whole company.
Your data.
- Your ERP stays the system of record
- Geodot does not replace your ERP: accounting, invoicing and tax stay where they are. We keep the execution detail.
- What we store
- Operational data: inventory by location, pallets and lots, movements, operation documents, trips and proof of delivery.
- Backups
- The database gets a full automatic backup every day, with configurable retention. In the managed cloud we run it; on your servers, Geodot plugs into your backup policy.
ERP integration, without touching it.
We read what the ERP already knows and send back what happened on the floor. We make no changes inside your ERP.
- 01
We receive
Orders, inbound notices, product master and customers from the ERP.
- 02
We execute
Receiving, putaway, routing, palletizing and loading happen in Geodot, traceable by pallet and lot.
- 03
We return
The status of every operation goes back to the ERP: received, located, loaded.
Your ERP sets the path: API when it exposes one, files or a connector when it does not.
Integration experience with SAP, SAP Business One, Oracle and Sage, and with SQL Server and MySQL databases.
For your IT team.
If your company has a security or vendor onboarding questionnaire, we answer it in writing during the proposal, along with the details of the deployment option.
