Comparison
Geodot or a traditional suite: what each one solves
Tier-1 WMS and ERP suites are good at what they do. This is an honest comparison: where they are stronger, where Geodot solves things differently, and how to tell what fits your operation.
Time to go live
- Traditional suite, mid-size scope6 to 12 months
- Geodot: basic routing4 to 6 weeks
- Geodot: warehouse and routing2 to 3 months
- Geodot: full platform3 to 4 months

Two ways to run logistics
A traditional suite starts from the ERP or the warehouse and adds modules: transport, routing, load optimization. Each one is powerful on its own and gets integrated with the rest in a project usually measured in quarters.
Geodot starts from daily operations: warehouse, transport, routing, palletizing and Control Tower on the same data, connected to the ERP you already have. It doesn't compete with your ERP; it reaches the detail your ERP can't.
Criterion by criterion
Ten criteria a buying committee usually weighs. For each one we mark who has the edge, including the ones that aren't ours.
| Criterion | Traditional WMS / ERP suite | Geodot |
|---|---|---|
| Time to go liveEdge: Geodot | Traditional WMS / ERP suite6 to 12 months for a mid-size project. Multi-site rollouts can run past a year. | GeodotBasic routing in 4 to 6 weeks, warehouse and routing in 2 to 3 months, full platform in 3 to 4 months. |
| Platform scopeEdge: Geodot | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteVery complete warehouse. Transport, routing and load optimization are usually separate modules or another vendor. | GeodotWarehouse, transport, routing, palletizing and Control Tower on a single data model. |
| Routing and palletizingEdge: Geodot | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteIn sequence: the load is built first and the route planned afterwards, in different engines. | GeodotSimultaneous: the route is built knowing what fits in each truck. In production, load went from 85% to 99%. |
| Relationship with the ERPDepends on your case | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteNative integration if you already run that ecosystem: shared master data and accounting, no middle layer. | GeodotConnects to your ERP (SAP, SAP Business One, Oracle) through API, files or a connector, depending on what it exposes, and doesn't replace it. The integration is designed within the project. |
| Automated distribution centersEdge: traditional suite | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteDeep warehouse execution, robotics and automation for high-volume centers. | GeodotRuns conventional shelving. For automation or robotics, the integration scope is assessed case by case. |
| Visibility on the road and at destinationEdge: Geodot | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteGPS tracking and validating what was actually unloaded usually require another vendor. | GeodotGPS, geofences and validation of every drop included in the platform. |
| How it improves over timeEdge: Geodot | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteRules configured by hand. Changing them usually takes a consultant. | GeodotThe AI learns from every delivery. Observed in operation: the ETA window dropped from 30 to 10 minutes in about 3 months. |
| LATAM operating rulesEdge: Geodot | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteStandard processes designed for other markets. Local needs are handled with configuration or custom development. | GeodotSafety gaps, returnables and true FEFO are product rules, not custom builds. |
| Ecosystem and global scaleEdge: traditional suite | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteRecognized brand, a wide network of integrators and proven multinational rollouts. | GeodotFocused on mid-size and large LATAM operations. |
| Tax localizationEdge: traditional suite | Traditional WMS / ERP suiteMature in large ERPs, with local tax documents such as CFDI and Carta Porte in Mexico. | GeodotInvoicing stays in your ERP. Geodot runs logistics on top of it. |
Implementation ranges for traditional suites: public market references reviewed in 2026. Geodot timelines are typical project scopes.
How to tell what fits
A traditional suite, if
- You already run your ERP's warehouse and transport modules and have a team dedicated to maintaining them.
- Your headquarters mandates a global WMS or TMS standard for every subsidiary.
- Your distribution center is heavily automated and robotic execution is what matters most.
Geodot, if
- Your trucks leave partly empty because route and load are decided separately.
- Warehouse, transport and routing live in tools that don't talk to each other.
- Your ERP works and you don't want a year-long project to extend it.
- You need measurable results in months, not in a year.
It's not one or the other
Geodot isn't here to replace your ERP. It adds a logistics layer on top: the ERP stays the system of record, and Geodot reaches the detail the ERP can't, the pallet, the lot, the location and the load of every truck.
